La vie de Bohème - life, love and suffering
Welcome! For the fourth time soprano Riikka Hakola and her international guests invite you to an evening of classical music at the Ehrenburg. The sound of Italian opera, an enjoyable musical portrayal of Bohemian life and a festive gala dinner will indulge your senses in an evening of top entertainment!
“Their daily existence is a stroke of genius.
They love the youngest and prettiest of women,
They drink the best and oldest of wines,
And never are the windows large enough
Through which they throw away their money.
A joyous, a terrible existence!”
Adapted from Henri Murger
Bohemian life is at the centre of this year’s classical music nights at the Ehrenburg: once more the hallowed halls of the castle set the stage for a romantic story of life, love and suffering, devised and performed by soprano and castle friend Riikka Hakola.
The renowned singer from Finland has invited some of her equally famous friends to join her on the Moselle: baritone Jaakko Kortekangas, now a classical music nights regular, and tenor Eduardo Aladren, who is debuting at the Ehrenburg this year. Accompanied by an international trio, they will be performing arias, duets and trios by Puccini, Tosti and the like.
There is also plenty to tickle the palate: besides brut and canapés to welcome you on your arrival the castle kitchen will be serving select delicacies during the interval – or you can also join our sumptuous gala dinner if you so desire. Welcome to an exciting evening at the Ehrenburg which will ravish your senses to the full!
Performers: Riikka Hakola (soprano), Eduardo Aladren (tenor), Jaakko Kortekangas (baritone), Laura Rajanen (violin), Johannes Ragg (double bass), Jukka Nykänen (piano), Sarah Friese and Andreas Krall (master of ceremonies)
