Viva Verdi! - An entertaining journey through the worl of opera
Welcome! For the fifth time soprano Riikka Hakola and her international guests invite you to an evening of classical music at the Ehrenburg. The sound of Italian opera, an enjoyable musical portrayal of Viva Verdi and a festive gala dinner will indulge your senses in an evening of top entertainment!
“See a king, powerful and sublime,
how he foolishly tries the fate here
and choose which path to walk for."
Adapted from Macbeth
The poet Masetto wants to make a special present of the castle's rule: a self-composed singing play with the music of famous composers should be it, exciting as "Macbeth", dramatically like "Rigoletto", sublime like "Aida". While auditioning and singing is good news, the samples are becoming more and more of a disaster. Can the performance still be successful in front of a large audience?
The Ehrenburg is always a prominent location for special events - something which the Finnish soprano Riikka Hakola is once again using as an opportunity to fill the old walls with a good game this year. Together with Jaakko Kortekangas and Sami Luttinen, she will be accompanied by an international trio, arias, duets and trios by Guiseppe Verdi, Mozart and Wagner, Lehar and Massenet.
There is also plenty to tickle the palate: besides brut and canapés to welcome you on your arrival the castle kitchen will be serving select delicacies during the interval – or you can also join our sumptuous gala dinner if you so desire. Welcome to an exciting evening at the Ehrenburg which will ravish your senses to the full!
Performers: Riikka Hakola (soprano), Jaakko Kortekangas (Baritone), Sami Luttinen (Bass) Laura Rajanen (Violin), Johannes Ragg (Double bass), Jukka Nykänen (Piano), Sarah Friese and Harald Peinzke (Master of ceremonies)
